OUTDOOR MASS Each Sunday at 9:30 am
Some ministries have resumed and we are adjusting to virtual meetings.
Welcome to the latest issue of The Matthian.
A nod to the founding members of the parish community, utilizing a new way to communicate and stay in touch.

Our First Outdoor Mass!

It was great to worship in community once again! 80 people came out for our Outdoor Mass this morning in the sunshine. It was wonderful to see so many friends and to praise our Lord together once more!

As this was our first outdoor Mass, some lessons were learned and improvements will be made for next weekend. Additional circles will be drawn to allow for more parishioners. We had technical difficulties with the live-streaming this weekend, so unfortunately, this mornings’ Mass did not record. Necessary repairs will be made this week to ensure that we can in fact, live-stream this Mass each weekend. Please remember to come a little early to find a circle for you and your family. We are required to keep Mass to no longer than 40 minutes.

Thank you for bringing your chairs, wearing your masks, and maintaining six feet of distance between households. Our bulletin will serve as a worship aid, please pick up a copy on your way in.

If you have questions, please email Sabrina.

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES:
As mentioned above, this morning we had some technical difficulties with live-streaming Mass. Necessary repairs will be made this week to ensure that Mass can be live-streamed next Sunday to our YouTube channel “Live Streams from St. Matthias in Redwood City.” Please subscribe to the channel for easier access.

St. Charles will offer one Mass per weekend, Sunday 8:30 am outdoors in the parking lot between the Parish Center and Church. Folks are invited to bring their own chairs. This Mass will also be live streamed to St. Charles’ Facebook page.

If you miss the live stream, videos of each weekend Mass are available on YouTube and Facebook and our parish website, www.stmatthiasparish.org.

UPDATE: YouTube no longer supports email notifications to subscribers. Please click here to read updated instructions.

Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time

At the time Matthew wrote his Gospel, the Church was on its own.  It was no longer part of the Jewish community and no longer observed the daily norms and customs of Orthodox Judaism.  The early Church community needed guidelines for its life together.  In Chapter 18, Matthew focuses on the importance of the community of believers.
