Preschool Mission Statement

St. Matthias Preschool is dedicated to educating young children ages 2.6-5 years old.

We value the uniqueness of each child and we as a preschool staff along with the parents and the Catholic Parish community strive to develop them with early education programs that enhance them spiritually, emotionally, academically, physically, socially and culturally. The dedicated and professional staff foster prayer, Christian values, caring and respect in a spiritual environment while learning the love of God. In this way, we develop in each child a sense of self-confidence, a sense of creativity, and encourage cooperation with others with the feeling of love and warmth that God has given us.

At St. Matthias Preschool, we provide an early childhood education program for children ages 2.6 to 5 years of age. Our program enhances their social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and physical development through our planned curriculum and activities.

We operate as one of the programs of St. Matthias Catholic Church and are under the direct supervision of the Pastor/Administrator and Department of Catholic Schools, Archdiocese of San Francisco. As a licensed facility, the preschool also follows the guidelines set forth by the Department of Social Services, State of California.

As a Catholic Preschool, we aim to provide age-appropriate faith formation. The dedicated and professional staff fosters prayer, teaches caring and respect while learning the love of God.  In this way, we develop in each child a sense of self-confidence, a sense of creativity, and encourage cooperation with others with the feeling of love and warmth that God has given us.

The Preschool is tuition based to cover the cost of its programs and operations. The Pastor and Parish Finance Council of St. Matthias Church in collaboration with the Director of the Preschool have responsibility for the oversight of the
financial management of the Preschool program.
