“An evangelizing community knows that the Lord has taken the initiative; he has loved us first and therefore we can move forward, boldly take the initiative, go out to others, seek those who have fallen away, stand at the crossroads and welcome the outcast.” The Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis I, n. 24″
This important group provides fellowship for our community by serving donuts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice for our monthly Donut Sunday’s after the 8:00 am and 10:30 am Masses on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Hospitality Sundays give parishioners an opportunity to welcome new members, greet one another, and share friendship over coffee. This group can always use more helpers. You can volunteer for once a month or more often, if possible.
Ushers provide a valuable service by taking up the collection during Mass and assigning people to bring up the offertory gifts during liturgy. Greeters help distribute the bulletins and welcome all who come to St. Matthias encouraging them to feel at home.
